A
fine guitarist
here in the local
area recently recommended Regan as a teacher to some parents who said
they were
unhappy with another local "Rock School". After three
months of lessons over there, their 14 year old son could play
absolutely nothing.
Not a single chord!? Of course, after
about 15 minutes with Regan he was playing several rock songs on the
guitar. He now has the know-how to play
well over a thousand songs, after just
one lesson. The parents
said they were very satisfied
with the lesson.
Now the downside. Brian and Janette Allen of Gig
Harbor
Washington had several weeks to plan for the first lesson.
They
planned to come to the lesson without any intention of paying for
it. Being a friendly, low key neighborhood business, the Rock
School allowed them to pay later. After repeated attempts to
contact them, it became obvious
that they were dishonest and had no intention of reimbursing the Rock
School for the lesson they said they enjoyed so much! After only
three
calls over a three month span they resorted to rudeness and a form of
cyber bullying.
Then they executed a shell game, changing
their names to Pete and Karen Allen and actually pretending that no
lesson ever took place! Now I'm not crazy, but now I know some
people are. It is truly sad that some would
intentionally defraud low income music teacher. Some might say
there is a special place in hell for those who prey upon music
teachers, though we don't accept that interpretation of theology.
We can only
hope that they will try to set a better example for their son Alex
in the future.
That is why we accept payment only in
advance, thanks for understanding!
